IT CAD-CAE Engineer activities:
Service Management (including Help Desk Interaction, Request-For-Change), work package management, Incident Reporting, Activity reporting, Finance spend record maintenance. There will be occasional travel to Portsmouth so flexibility is a must.
Detailed Description of work
Requests for I.T. Services (RITS) Management
Mini-Projects: Analysing new software product requests and/or hardware involving discussions with internal customer, Requirements Management, Studies Management, Financial aspects, IT Security, Networks/Data Centre Services consultation
Requests-For-Change (RFC): 'Non-routine' call processing (i.e. individual new products/services requests, financial impacts), requiring technical investigation, discussion with internal customers, Capital Applications + Requisitioning, Licensing aspects, IT Security, Networks/Data Centre Services consultation, progress chasing
Incidents: Management of complex incidents, first level assessment + distribution to team for investigation, plus management, progress chasing & closeout monitoring
Financial Administration
Maintaining MS Excel based cost records
Management meetings
Attendance of management meetings (weekly teleconference & quarterly face to face meetings)
CAE software installations & test
