Survey 40 - "What method of transport do you use to get to
work?"
September looked at the methods of transport that people take to get
to work. Do you walk, drive, get the train, cycle, jump on a taxi
or take a combination of methods? We found:
13% walk
36% drive by car
20% get the train
9% cycle
10% get a taxi
9% get a bus
With the introduction of the congestion charge in London and the hike
in prices, we may see a drop in the number of people who drive. Public
transport and cycling are both being pushed in order to help the environment
and reduce congestion brought about by the number of cars on the road.
It is surprising how many people get a taxi to work given the high
charges involved. |
